South Korea has signed a one-trillion won contract with the United Arab Emirates(UAE) to operate four nuclear reactors it is building in Barakah.

The Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Company said that it clinched an Operating Support Services Agreement with the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation last Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.

In its first nuclear operational service contract, South Korea will send over 200 experienced nuclear plant personnel every year from May of 2016 to 2030 to the site where four Korean-style nuclear power plants are being built.

The dispatched personnel will receive a wage of 300 million won, or 263-thousand dollars per person on average a year, including housing costs.

The latest accord is worth one trillion won, or some 920 million dollars, including the 600 million dollars under the main contract and a total of 320 million dollars in indirect costs, such as housing and training.
