Samsung Electronics has filed a countersuit against China's Huawei Technologies over patent disputes.
 
According to Chinese news reports, Samsung sued Huawei and a mobile device retailer in a Beijing court and is seeking 161 million yuan, or 24-point-seven billion won, in compensation. Samsung is seeking 80-point-five million yuan in compensation from Huawei.
 
Samsung said in its petition that Huawei infringed on six of its patents for mobile communications technology, data storage for images and others. Samsung believes that the retailer hurt its sales by selling Huawei products that infringed on its patents.
 
Huawei filed suits against Samsung in Shenzhen and Quanzhou, China on July sixth, seeking compensation of 80 million yuan for what it claimed was infringement on its patents by the South Korean company.
