The White House strongly condemned North Korea's continued missile tests.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said in a regular press briefing on Tuesday that the U.S. government is strongly condemning the North’s test-firing of three ballistic missiles on Tuesday and other recent missile tests.
While emphasizing that the launches violate the UN Security Council resolutions, Earnest said he is confident that the United States will continue to work with Russia and China that are also concerned about North Korea’s destabilizing actions.
Noting that the North is more isolated from the international community than before, the spokesman expressed hope that the regime will make a strategic decision to come out of the "shadows of the international community" and try to rejoin it.
Comments from the White House followed a statement by the Pentagon that the U.S. strongly condemns Tuesday’s and previous missile tests by Pyongyang.
North Korea fired three ballistic missiles from its east coast on Tuesday morning, sending two of them up to 600 kilometers toward the East Sea.
