S. Korea Condemns N. Korea's Missile Launches

South Korea has strongly condemned North Korea’s firing of three ballistic missiles off its east coast early Tuesday.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Cho June-hyuck said on Tuesday during a regular news briefing that South Korea denounces the latest launch as a blatant violation of UN resolutions and a provocation threatening the safety and peace of the Korean Peninsula and the region.

The spokesman urged the North to immediately halt this type of provocation, adding the Seoul government will take necessary diplomatic steps in close cooperation with the international community.

He said that currently, an anti-North Korea frame is in place in the international community around UN Security Council Resolution 2270 and the government is extending diplomatic efforts to step up joint international action against Pyongyang.
