The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) gave up four-point-22 points, or zero-point-21 percent, to close at two-thousand-16-point-89, snapping what would have been a seven-day winning streak on Tuesday.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ, on the other hand, rose one-point-54 points, or zero-point-22 percent, to 702-point-44.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened zero-point-nine won against the greenback to one-thousand-135-point-five won.
