The head of Nepal’s central bank has sought deeper cooperation with and assistance from the Bank of Korea(BOK).
According to the South Korean central bank, Nepal Rastra Bank(NRB) Governor Chiranjibi Nepal made the request when he met with his South Korean counterpart Lee Ju-yeol at an international conference in Seoul on Tuesday.
Nepal expressed hope that the central banks of South Korea and Nepal will expand cooperation and that the BOK will provide assistance in various areas for the development of the NRB.
In particular, Nepal asked for the BOK's help in learning techniques related to settling payments and requested the dispatch of related personnel. In response, Lee said he will positively consider the request.
The BOK had sent an adviser to NRB for five years from February 2008.
