Deputy PM: 10 Trillion Won Injection to Help Struggling Shipyard Towns

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Yoo Il-ho says the government will swiftly finalize details on its supplementary budget and inject over ten trillion won into regions suffering from corporate restructuring in the shipbuilding sector.

Minister Yoo made the pledge Friday as he was visiting the Daebul Industrial Complex, an industrial area in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province.

He said that the ten-trillion won, or eight-point-eight billion dollar injection, will be funneled into expanding jobs alongside restructuring efforts and revitalizing the economy in shipbuilding-centered locations.

He added that the government will submit the extra budget plan to the National Assembly within this month as part of efforts to bring timely and tangible economic results to the people.
