2.8-Magnitude Quake Hits Ulsan on Thursday

Another earthquake took place in waters off the southeastern port city of Ulsan on Thursday night.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA), a two-point-eight-magnitude quake occurred in the East Sea 86 kilometers away from the coastal city at 10:31 p.m. Thursday.

It is around 40 kilometers away from the epicenter of a five-point-zero-magnitude earthquake that hit Ulsan last Tuesday.

The KMA presumed the latest quake is an aftershock of last week's tremor and that no damage has been reported.

Last Tuesday's earthquake was South Korea's fifth-largest tremor since the government began compiling related data in 1978, but did not cause any damage or casualties.
