N. Korea Blasts S. Korea for Plan to Increase Loudspeakers

North Korea has criticized South Korea for its plan to increase the number of loudspeakers near the tense inter-Korean border.

North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Saturday that Seoul’s plan is an intentional provocation that casts a damper on efforts for reunification and pushes the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the worst possible level.

The KCNA said that the South’s move comes ahead of the annual Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise between the South and the United States, which clearly shows that the South has planned the move to find an excuse to provoke a war.

The North then threatened that if Seoul and Washington provoke a war on the peninsula, the North’s ten million troops will mobilize all their means to destroy them.

South Korea's military is reportedly planning to set up about 10 additional loudspeakers near the border to boost psychological warfare against the North.
