UK Business Secretary to Launch Trade Talks with S. Korea, US, China, Japan

U.K. Business Secretary Sajid Javid will launch trade talks with South Korea, the United States, China and Japan over the next few months to replace trade deals established by the European Union.

The AFP reported that Javid disclosed in a statement on Thursday that his "absolute priority is making sure the U.K. has the tools it needs to continue to compete on the global stage," following Britain's decision to exit the EU.

Javid, who is visiting India, said he made the trip to launch initial trade discussions. He said the U.K. and India share a strong bilateral trade relationship and that he is determined to build on that.

The business minister added that he had a series of discussions with India's finance and commerce ministers and that he will visit South Korea, the United States, China and Japan over the next few months.
