The number of South Koreans who have more than one billion won, or about 860-thousand U.S. dollars, in financial assets reached 211-thousand last year, up 15-point-nine percent from 2014.
 
According to a report by KB Financial Group released on Wednesday, such wealthy people accounted for just 41-hundredths of a percent of the nation’s population while their assets accounted for 15-point-three percent of households’ total financial assets.
 
The number of such South Koreans has been rising by some ten percent on average annually since the data began to be compiled in 2011.
