The Korea Economic Research Institute(KERI) has assessed that Chinese companies have already outperformed their South Korean counterparts in terms of competitiveness.
 
The institute made the assessment on Tuesday in a report that compared the corporate competitiveness of listed nonfinancial companies of South Korea and China in 2007 with that of 2014.

The companies were evaluated on eight indices that gauged performance, research and development, internationalization and productivity.
 
According to the report, in 2014, China’s listed companies outperformed South Korean firms in five out of eight indices, including profitability, growth and asset size.
