Hyundai-Kia Post Record 1H Sales in the US

Hyundai Motor and its affiliate Kia Motors posted their biggest results to date in the U.S. market in the first half of this year.

According to the firms' U.S. sale corporation, Hyundai and Kia sold 702-thousand-388 vehicles in the U.S. from January to June, up three percent from the same period last year.

This is a new record in accumulated first-half sales posted in just one year.

During the six months, Hyundai sold over 374-thousand cars and Kia over 328-thousand-300 units in the U.S. market.

The impressive performance is due in part to the popularity of SUV’s in America.

Hyundai-Kia will strengthen their SUV model lineup to better target U.S. consumers as sales of SUVs and mini vans are reaching 30 to 40 percent of total U.S. sales.
