KOSPI Rises on Back of Extra Budget Announcement

The South Korean stock market on Tuesday continued to recover some of the losses endured last Friday in the aftermath of Britain's decision to part ways with the EU.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Tuesday rose nine-point-37 points, or zero-point-49 percent, to close at one-thousand-936-point-22. The considerable jump came after the KOSPI fell to as low as one-thousand-892-point-75 during trading last Friday.

Investor sentiment was particularly given a boost after the South Korean government announced a plan to draw up a supplementary budget this year.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ gained eleven-point-18 points, or one-point-72 percent, to 659-point-three.

On the foreign exchange market, the local currency appreciated eleven won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-171-point-three won.
