Fake U.S. Dollar Bills Found in Hong Kong, China

It has been made known that sophisticated fake U.S. dollar bills believed to have been produced or at least circulated in North Korea have been found in Hong Kong and China.

According to a Chinese source familiar with North Korean affairs, a Hong Kong businessman tried to deposit a 100-dollar note at a local bank but was told that it was a counterfeit bill. The money was part of U.S. dollars left over from a recent trip to Pyongyang.

It was also reported that counterfeit U.S. bills were discovered among money that Chinese businesspeople received for sales of their products at an international merchandise exhibition held in Pyongyang from May 23rd to the 26th.
