More flights will serve travelers on the Incheon-Paris route.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Thursday that South Korea and France reached an agreement on increasing the number of flights linking Incheon and Paris in two-day aviation talks held in Paris from Tuesday. As a result, 14 flights a week will link the two cities, up from the current 12.
As Paris is one of the most favored European cities among South Korean tourists, it is difficult to purchase a ticket on the route during the peak season with more than 90 percent of seats sold and occupied.
The two countries plan to decide on the exact timing to increase the flights in a follow-up meeting in March next year, when tourism demand for Paris is expected to recover from a blow dealt by last year’s terrorist attack.
In this week’s meeting, South Korea and France also agreed to allow their airlines to link their services with overland transportation means like high-speed trains.
