North Korea’s Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho met with a senior UN official in charge of mediating the dialogue between the North and the UN Development Program(UNDP).

The North’s official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) said on Tuesday that Ri met with UNDP’s Resident Coordinator for North Korea Tapan Mishra, as he was visiting the North.

KCNA said the two discussed measures to advance cooperative relations between Pyongyang and UN agencies and that cooperation from the UN bodies will support and encourage North Koreans in building a strong economy.

KCNA said that Mishra expressed a will to actively contribute to enhancing the well-being of North Koreans by continuing to work for smooth cooperation between the North and the UN agencies.
