S. Korea Produces Watch List of 130 Items from Entering N. Korea

South Korea has revealed a watch list with some 130 items as part of its own sanctions against North Korea.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Cho June-hyuck said on Tuesday during a regular news briefing that the list is part of the government’s own sanctions announced on March eighth.

Cho said that 89 of the 130 items are related to the North's nuclear program, while 41 others are related to the regime's missile development.

Nuke-related items include aluminum, ammonium hydroxide and other chemicals and computers, while missile-related items include ball bearings and high-speed cameras.

The spokesman said that the items are not controlled internationally under the multilateral export control system, but the government drew up the list of items that can be used for the North’s nuclear and missile development programs in order to thoroughly enforce UN Security Council Resolution 2270.

He said that the government will share the list with its trading partners and continue diplomatic efforts to ensure the listed items will not reach North Korea.
