North Korea said Friday that it has no intention to extend its offer for dialogue if President Park Geun-hye keeps refusing to accept its proposal to hold inter-Korean talks.
According to the North's official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA), a spokesperson for the North's Council for National Reconciliation also said that Pyongyang has plenty of dialogue partners other than President Park.
The council blasted South Korea's claim that the North's proposal for dialogue is a tactic to turn around the situation and veer away from sanctions and pressure. It argued that Seoul is trying to avoid improving cross-border relations at all costs.
The North Korean council also said the claim that the North's nuclear development is a fundamental stumbling block to improving inter-Korean relations is a despicable lie that can't be farther from the truth.
The North said its nuclear armament is an indispensable choice for self-defense in order to defend its dignity and sovereignty as well as its fate and future.
