S. Korea Looking into Allegations on Pyongyang Univ.

South Korea’s Foreign Ministry says it is closely looking into allegations that Pyongyang University of Science and Technology in North Korea is involved in fostering experts to further develop the regime's nuclear and missile programs.

Ministry Spokesman Cho June-hyuck made the remarks on Tuesday during a regular news briefing when asked about media reports that the university has a role in training experts for the North’s cyber warfare as well.

The university was jointly established by South Korea's Northeast Asia Foundation for Education and Culture and the North's education ministry in September 2009.

Regarding a Japanese report about China’s arrest of a suspected North Korean spy in Dandong, China, earlier this month, the spokesman said that the government is trying to confirm the information.
