KOSPI Closes at 7-Month High

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) closed at a seven-month high on Wednesday as shares of Samsung Electronics rose on the back of strong foreign buying.

Foreign and institutional investors purchased over 315 billion won worth of South Korean shares.

The main index jumped 15-point-45 points, or zero-point-77 percent, to close at two-thousand-27-point-08, the highest since November last year.

The secondary KOSDAQ, however, lost zero-point-78 point, or zero-point-11 percent, to 703-point-99.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened six-point-one won against the greenback to one-thousand-156-point-six won.
