Vice Chairman of the North Korean Ruling Party’s Central Committee Ri Su-yong is reported to have briefed China’s Communist Party officials about the recent party congress in Pyongyang.
North Korea’s Korean Central Television(KCTV) reported that Ri on Tuesday night met Song Tao, the head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China, after arriving in Beijing earlier in the day.
KCTV said that the chief delegate from Pyongyang informed his counterpart about North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's announcement of the simultaneous pursuit of economic and nuclear development as his party's permanent strategy.
The North Korean broadcaster said Ri also informed Song of other socialist strategies and tasks agreed during the last month’s congress.
Song was cited as responding that the Chinese ruling party and the government firmly support the North Korean party for moving forward on the path of development that fits them. Song said China genuinely wishes the North to achieve the goals proposed during the congress.
