N. Korea Repeats Call for Withdrawal of US’ Hostile Policy

While continuing its charm offensive on South Korea, North Korea has again urged the U.S. to withdraw its policy of hostility toward the regime.

According to the North’s Korean Central News Agency(KCNA), Pyongyang’s National Defense Commission delivered a "final warning" to the U.S. in a statement Wednesday, saying that a quick withdrawal of its anachronistic hostile policy is the only way for Washington to avoid an end of hopeless misfortune.

Denouncing the U.S.’ North Korea policy as a result of ignorance, the statement said that the U.S. is faced with an undeniable, solemn reality that a nuclear time bomb capable of blowing up the U.S. mainland is ticking away toward detonation.

North Korea has been making a series of dialogue proposals to South Korea since last Friday, following the congress of its ruling Workers’ Party early this month. However, Seoul has dismissed the North Korean suggestions, saying that Pyongyang’s denuclearization is a precondition for the resumption of inter-Korean dialogue.
