Bank of Korea(BOK) Governor Lee Ju-yeol has assured that the government and the central bank are not in a confrontation over their negotiations on how to fund corporate restructuring.

Speaking to reporters after a lecture at Korea University on Friday, the BOK chief asked for time to wait for the results of discussions between the central bank and the government.

The BOK chief said he doesn't believe the situation is that of confrontation between the two sides, expressing hope the two sides' negotiators will produce a reasonable solution.

Officials of the BOK, Finance Ministry and the Financial Supervisory Commission held its second meeting on Thursday to discuss options including the creation of a bank capitalization fund and direct investment.
