The Pacific Asia Travel Association has forecast that more than 80 million foreign tourists will visit South Korea between 2015 and 2020.
In a report, the association projected that the number of foreigners traveling to South Korea will post annual growth of two-point-two percent on average during the cited period.
Chinese tourists are expected to make up the majority of the total with some 35-and-a-half million set to visit South Korea.
The report forecast that South Korea, Japan, the Maldives and Thailand are expected to see the sharpest jumps in foreign travelers among the Asia-Pacific countries.
The report also predicted that South Korea will see a big increase in both inbound and outbound travelers between 2015 and 2020, with Koreans mostly traveling to the United States and close destinations like China, Japan and Southeast Asian countries.
