The Korea Gas Corporation(KOGAS) has agreed to build a gas pipeline in Indonesia for 600 million U.S. dollars.

The state-run firm on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding(MOU) to build, own and operate for 30 years a 363-kilometer pipeline with PDPDE, an energy company run by Indonesia’s South Sumatra Province.

South Sumatra will require the construction of energy infrastructure due to the government’s plan to designate a 19-point-eight million square meter special economic zone before the province hosts the 2018 Asian Games.

KOGAS’s pipeline will span 245 kilometers in South Sumatra and 118 kilometers in Bali Province.
