Defectors' Group Sends Leaflets to Criticize N. Korea's Party Congress

A civic group comprising North Korean defectors flew anti-North Korea leaflets across the border from Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province on Thursday.

The Seoul-based Fighters for a Free North Korea sent ten massive balloons toward the North, carrying about 300-thousand leaflets at 7 a.m.

The leaflets criticize Pyongyang's recent party congress, during which the North named Kim Jong-un as chairman of the ruling Workers’ Party and insisted it is a nuclear state.

The balloons also carried two-thousand one U.S. dollar bills, 500 booklets introducing the advancements of South Korea and two-thousand DVDs and USB flash drives.
