S. Korea to Hold Hallyu Fairs in China

South Korea is hosting a serious of massive commodities fairs in China to promote Korean products related to the Korean Wave or Hallyu.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said that it began holding the fairs sequentially in the three Chinese cities of Shenyang, Xian and Chongqing from Thursday.

The events are aimed at capitalizing on the reviving popularity of Hallyu and helping South Korean firms advance into the emerging inland market in China's northeastern and western regions.

Trade Minister Joo Hyung-hwan expressed hope that the fairs will help promote South Korean consumer goods and boost Chinese consumers’ interest and attention on Korean products.
