KOSPI, KOSDAQ Fall as Markets Reopen

As the local markets reopened following a four-day holiday, South Korea's benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) dropped below one-thousand-970 on Monday.

The main index fell eight-point-nine points, or zero-point-45 percent, to one-thousand-967-point-81.

The secondary KOSDAQ dipped two-point-35 points, or zero-point-34 percent, to 691-point-82.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened eleven-point-five won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-165-point-eight won.
