The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Wednesday lost nine-point-seven points, or zero-point-49 percent, closing at one-thousand-976-point-71.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ fell four-point-49 points, or zero-point-64 percent, to 694-point-17.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened 14-point-one won against the greenback to one-thousand-154-point-three won.

The South Korean market will be closed on Thursday and Friday for public holidays.
