Manufacturers' Business Sentiment Rises for April

South Korean manufacturers appear to be more confident as a poll showed that business sentiment for this month jumped from a month earlier.

According to results from the Bank of Korea(BOK) survey revealed Friday, the business survey index(BSI) for April came to 71, a rise from 68 in March.

It marked an increase for the second consecutive month after five months of declines and it was also the highest recorded since October when it was also 71.

The BSI measures corporate confidence. A figure of more than 100 means more firms than not have a sunny view of the economy.

The expected BSI for May is 73, indicating more firms have an optimistic outlook for next month than there were in March, when the expected BSI for April was 70.
