N. Korea Renews Attack Threat Ahead of Military Founding Anniv.

North Korea renewed its threat to conduct nuclear missile tests and pledged allegiance to leader Kim Jong-un in a rally on Sunday, a day before the 84th anniversary of the founding of its Korean People’s Army.
 
The North’s Korea Central TV and other media outlets broadcast a recorded celebration of the military anniversary, which was held at the People’s Palace of Culture in Pyongyang on Sunday.
 
Chief of the Korean People’s Army General Staff Ri Myong-su denounced South Korea-U.S. joint military drills, pledging to launch ruthless preemptive attacks without any warning or prior notice if the two allies continue to make provocations targeting the North’s supreme leader.
 
North Korea celebrates the founding of its military on April 25th  every year, claiming that its founder Kim Il-sung launched an anti-Japanese guerrilla unit on the day in 1932 during Japanese occupation.
