The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Thursday advanced 16-point-27 points, or zero-point-81 percent, to close at two-thousand-22-point-one, the highest closing level this year.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ gained one-point-76 points, or zero-point-25 percent, to finish at 701-point-62.

On the foreign exchange market, the local currency appreciated two-point-three won against the U.S. dollar to one-thousand-132-point-nine won.
