Korea Exchange to List EuroStoxx 50 Futures in June

The Korea Exchange(KRX) has clinched a deal with the Deutsche Boerse that will allow them to list derivatives products on each other's stock markets starting in June.

Under the deal announced on Wednesday, the KRX said Eurostoxx 50 Index Futures products will be listed on the main stock market for local investors, while mini KOSPI 200 Futures products will be available on the Eurex derivatives trading market in Germany.

EuroStoxx 50 is a leading stock index for Eurozone stocks, while the mini KOSPI 200 is an index based on 200 stocks which represent South Korea's major industries.

KRX CEO Choi Kyung-soo said the cross-listings will effectively meet local investment demands and mark another milestone in advancements toward globalizing exchanges.

Jeffrey Tessler, an executive board member of Deutsche Boerse, cited that there are many financial products using EuroStoxx 50 in South Korea’s securities market. He said the latest deal will provide additional opportunities for investors to diversify their investment portfolios.
