Korean Air Provides Relief Goods to Victims of Earthquakes in Japan

Korean Air will provide emergency relief goods to those affected by recent earthquakes in Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture.

South Korea's largest airline said Wednesday that its A330 airliner carrying 24-thousand bottles of water left on Flight KE787 headed to Fukuoka in the morning.

According to the company, the one-point-five-liter bottles of water will be transported from Fukuoka Airport to the hard-hit areas in Kumamoto and will be distributed to the residents who are left stranded by the two massive earthquakes last week.

A magnitude-seven tremor struck the Kyushu Island prefecture last Thursday, while a seven-point-three magnitude quake rocked the same region early Saturday.

Korean Air has provided emergency goods to other Asia-Pacific countries hit by natural disasters, including Fiji and Myanmar. Fiji suffered from its worst-ever cyclone in February and Myanmar was hit by a massive flood last summer.
