March Producer Price Index Falls to 6-Year Low

South Korea's producer price index(PPI) for March fell to its lowest in six years.

The Bank of Korea(BOK) on Wednesday said the tentative March PPI was 98-point-42, zero-point-one percent lower than the figure from a month earlier.

The March PPI was also three-point-three percent lower from the same time last year.

The producer price gauge saw little change in February and January this year, stemming continued falls.

The index price changes in wholesale prices of goods and services produced by domestic producers and is later included in the consumer price index. The central bank reset the index at 100 as the benchmark in 2010.
