S. Korea Voices Concern over Nobel Laureates' Planned Visit to N. Korea

South Korea has voiced concerns regarding a planned trip to North Korea by three Nobel laureates, citing the possibility that the North will use the visit for political purposes.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Cho Joon-hyuk said on Tuesday during a regular news briefing that the government plans to deliver its position to the International Peace Foundation.

The spokesman said that the government will closely follow the laureates’ activities in the North and the possibility that they might be used in the North’s propaganda efforts after the trip.

Quoting the peace foundation, the Voice of America reported on Monday that Britain's Richard Roberts, Norway's Finn Kydland and Israel's Aaron Ciechanover will visit the North from April 29th to May sixth to speak at some of the country's top universities.
