The Voice of America(VOA) reports that three Nobel Prize laureates will hold lectures at universities in North Korea.
Quoting International Peace Foundation Chairman Uwe Morawetz, VOA said that Richard Roberts of Britain, Finn Kydland of Norway and Aaron Ciechanover of Israel will make a visit to the North from April 29th to May sixth.
Under the foundation’s program entitled “Bridges: The Dialogues towards a Culture of Peace,” the three Nobel Prize winners will enter Pyongyang via Beijing and speak about economic policies and development and a medical revolution at Kim Il-sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and Pyongyang University of Science and Technology.
They will return to Beijing on May sixth and hold a news conference the next day.
Morawetz expressed expectations that the lecturers and educational institutions will be able to establish long-term relationships through the event, which will in turn, inspire young North Korean generations.
Roberts was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1993, while Kydland won the honor for economics and Ciechanover for chemistry both in 2004.
