KOSPI Finishes Above 2,000, Reaches Year's High

South Korea's main stock market rose on Thursday, after it closed for the day on Wednesday for the 20th general elections. 

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) closed above the two-thousand threshold. It rose 34-point-61 points, or one-point-75 percent, to two-thousand-15-point-93, the highest level since December last year.

The secondary KOSDAQ was little changed, dipping zero-point-03 points to 693-point-42.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened ten-point-nine won against the greenback to one-thousand-156-point-seven won.
