The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) added ten-point-95 points, or zero-point-56 percent, to close at one-thousand-981-point-32 on Tuesday.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ inched up zero-point-44 points, or zero-point-06 percent, to finish at 693-point-45.

On the foreign exchange market, the local currency appreciated zero-point-seven won against the greenback to one-thousand-145-point-eight won. 

The stock markets and foreign exchange market will close on Wednesday for the nation's general elections.
