A state-run employment booth designed to assist young job seekers in finding employment has launched its services.
The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning Friday held a ceremony in light of the opening of the employment zone at the Center for Creative Economy and Innovation in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.
The employment zone, which will also be set up within the 16 other Centers for Creative Economy and Innovation across the country, aims to ease the nation's high youth unemployment rate.
It will connect young job seekers with quality jobs at small- and mid-sized enterprises(SMEs) or startups and run assistance programs on how to establish a company.
Five to six staff members will be stationed at each of the employment zones, and around 200 employment programs will be put in place at the centers by the end of the year.
This year, the government plans to create at least two-thousand-500 jobs and provide at least 10-thousand people with education and training opportunities through the booths.
