N. Korea Continues GPS Jamming Against S. Korea

Despite Seoul's warning to stop, North Korea is continuing to jam Global Positioning System(GPS) signals in South Korea for the fourth day.

Officials at Seoul’s Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning said Monday that apart from a brief intermission of a few hours on Sunday, the North’s GPS disruption signals were continuing since last Thursday.

They said that previously in April 2012, Pyongyang's GPS disruptions had continued for 16 days.

Seoul officials said the latest interruptions had not sparked accidents among civilian or military transportation vehicles. South Korea is maintaining the GPS alert level at the second-lowest in the four-tier system.

The Defense Ministry issued a statement Friday warning North Korea to immediately stop jamming GPS signals and labeled the act a "clear provocation."
