KBS has found out that North Korea is selling finished goods that South Korean companies had to leave behind at the inter-Korean Gaeseong Industrial Complex.
After meeting with a Pyongyang department store official in the Sino-North Korea border city of Dandong in China, a source told KBS about the assets of the South Korean companies following the shutdown of the complex.

"[He said that] Gaeseong products from clothing to home appliances have been taken. The items are sold at their department stores and high-quality shoes and suits are sold at their foreign-currency stores... Asked about how to handle problems later on, I was told that there will be no problems as it was announced that [goods] will be confiscated and that the complex will not reopen."
The North is said to have taken out the products from February. As the goods are being sold at legal outlets instead of active black markets in the country, North Korean authorities are believed to be involved in the process.
The Gaesong Industrial Complex was shut down in early February following Pyongyang's nuclear and missile tests.
South Korean companies left finished products, raw materials and other equipment worth a total of around 250 billion won, or about 217 million U.S. dollars.
North Korea in March said that it would liquidate all South Korean properties at the factory park.
