S. Korea Marks Current Account Surplus for 48th Straight Month

South Korea recorded a current account surplus for the 48th consecutive month in February.

The Bank of Korea(BOK) said on Friday that the nation's current account surplus was seven-point-five billion U.S. dollars last month, marking an increase of 690 million dollars from a month earlier.

February’s tally was also a rise of one-point-four billion dollars from a year ago.

BOK official Hwang Sang-pil said low oil prices led to a better trade environment for South Korea, increasing the current account surplus.
