North Korea says it has achieved "remarkable results" by emerging as a nuclear power in the world.
The claim was made in a detailed report issued Wednesday by a think tank under the North's ruling Workers' Party's United Front Department as the country marked the third anniversary of its dual policy of nuclear advancement alongside economic growth.
The report said the North will continue its nuclear development for self-defense and attributed the remarkable achievements of the past three years solely to the "wise leadership" of its supreme leader Kim Jong-un.
North Korean propaganda portals including uriminzokkiri.com and dprktoday.com on Thursday also hailed the simultaneous push for nuclear development and economic growth, which the North calls the "byeongjin" policy.
On March 31st, 2013, Kim Jong-un chaired a plenary meeting of the Workers' Party's Central Committee and adopted the two-pronged policy of developing its nuclear program and economy at the same time.
