South Korea's industrial output rebounded in February led by increased production in the semiconductor and service industries.
According to Statistics Korea on Thursday, the country's industrial output increased eight-tenths of a percent last month from a month ago. The output decreased in October and November last year before rebounding to one-point-three percent in December and taking a downturn in January.
Production in the mining and manufacturing sectors gained three-point-three percent last month from a month ago, thanks to increased output in semiconductors and metalworking. The three-point-three percent growth marks the largest since September 2009 when it posted three-point-seven percent.
Retail sales, which refer to domestic consumption, fell one-point-eight percent last month, decreasing for the second straight month.
