Samsung 3rd Most Reputable Firm in US

Samsung Electronics has claimed third place among a list of the top 100 most reputable companies operating in the United States.

According to the online edition of Forbes magazine on Wednesday, Boston-based consulting firm Reputation Institute(RI) ranked companies operating in the U.S. based on how the general public feels about the company in seven categories: products and services, innovation, workplace, governance, citizenship, leadership and performance.

The South Korean electronics giant ranked as the most reputable firm in the tech industry for corporate social responsibilities(CSR). It received a RepTrak Pulse score 84-point-four to rank third after Amazon at 85-point-four and Hallmark 85-point-one.

It marked the third year in a row for online retailer Amazon to top the list. Rounding out the top ten were Kellogg, Sony, Johnson & Johnson, Rolex, Intel, Netflix and the Walt Disney Company.

Meanwhile, Apple, Samsung's arch rival in the global smartphone market, ranked below 100.

Forbes said that Samsung, which did not place in the top ten last year, improved in each of the seven categories to acquire a much better score compared to its 2015 tally of 77-point-seven.
