Ahead of the Nuclear Security Summit later this week, North Korea has accused the host country U.S. of causing a nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula.
The North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) on Monday issued a commentary, urging the U.S. to end its policy of hostility toward Pyongyang.
Regarding this year’s summit in Washington, the North Korean news agency said that it is contradictory for the U.S., the world’s largest nuclear powerhouse, to host such a meeting on nuclear nonproliferation.
The KCNA blamed the U.S. for making ceaseless nuclear threats at North Korea and bringing about a nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula.
The latest remarks come as the fourth Nuclear Security Summit is set to get under way for two days from Thursday in Washington with the participation of over 50 national delegations and international agencies. Pyongyang's nuclear issue is expected to be included on the agenda of items to be discussed.
