The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) declined Thursday on institutional selling. 

The main index lost nine-point-15 points, or zero-point-46 percent, to one-thousand-985-point-97.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also dipped three-point-13 points, or zero-point-45 percent, to 686-point-26.

On the foreign exchange market, the local currency depreciated five-point-one won against the greenback to one-thousand-166-point-three won.
