Finance Minister Yoo Il-ho has vowed to exert all-out efforts toward boosting the efficiency of financial support aimed at creating jobs.
Yoo, who concurrently serves as deputy prime minister, made the pledge when he chaired this year’s first financial policy consultation meeting on Tuesday.
Yoo said that next year’s fiscal operation conditions are likely to be challenging given recent economic situations. He then stressed that the finance ministry will place focus next year on building a more dynamic economy through structural reforms and strengthening domestic demand and export bases.
The ministry was said to be reviewing opinions presented by experts from various sectors at Tuesday’s meeting and are expected to reflect the ideas when compiling next year’s budget and fund operations plans.
After reviewing the proposals at a cabinet meeting, the ministry will notify other key ministries of the plans by next Thursday.
